Last updated: June 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Knowm Inc. ("Knowm," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with knowm.ai and any related pages, content, and features we operate (the "Site"). It also describes the rights and choices you have regarding your information.
Please read this policy carefully. By accessing or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Site.
1. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to information we collect through the Site and through communications between you and Knowm, such as newsletter subscriptions and email correspondence. It does not apply to third-party websites, products, or services that we do not own or control, even where we link to them. Those third parties have their own privacy practices, and we encourage you to review them.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
Information you provide to us
- Contact and subscription information. When you subscribe to our newsletter or otherwise reach out to us, we collect the email address you provide and any other information you choose to include.
- Communications. When you contact us, we keep a record of the correspondence, including its contents, so we can respond and maintain our records.
Information we collect automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information about your device and how you interact with the Site, including:
- IP address and approximate, IP-based location;
- browser type, device type, operating system, and language settings;
- pages and content you view, links you click, and the dates and times of your visits;
- referring URLs and the site or source that led you to us; and
- information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 3).
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, web beacons, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, and understand how the Site is used. We use these technologies for purposes including:
- Necessary functions, such as remembering your light or dark theme preference;
- Analytics and performance, to measure traffic and understand how visitors engage with our content.
Most web browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. If you disable cookies, some features of the Site may not function properly. You can typically learn how to manage cookies in your browser's help documentation.
4. Analytics and third-party services
We use third-party services to help us understand and improve how the Site is used and to communicate with subscribers. These currently include:
- Google Analytics, which helps us measure and analyze Site traffic;
- PostHog, which provides product and usage analytics; and
- Mailchimp, which we use to manage newsletter subscriptions and send email.
These providers may set cookies and collect information about your use of the Site, and they process that information in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not control how these third parties use the information they collect.
5. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- operate, maintain, and improve the Site and its content;
- send our newsletter and respond to inquiries and requests;
- understand how visitors find and use the Site through analytics;
- send communications and marketing where permitted;
- maintain the security and integrity of the Site and protect against fraud and abuse;
- comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms; and
- carry out any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information or with your consent.
6. Legal bases for processing (EEA and UK)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data only where we have a valid legal basis to do so. Depending on the circumstances, our legal bases include:
- Consent, for example when you subscribe to our newsletter or where consent is required for certain cookies or marketing;
- Legitimate interests, such as operating and securing the Site, understanding how it is used, and growing our audience, where those interests are not overridden by your rights;
- Performance of a contract, where processing is necessary to provide something you have requested; and
- Compliance with a legal obligation, where we are required to process your information by law.
7. How we share and disclose information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as described in this policy, including:
- Service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as the analytics, email, and data partners described above, and who are permitted to use the information only to provide those services;
- Legal and safety purposes, where we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests and legal process, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Knowm, our users, or the public; and
- Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Some sharing with analytics providers may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under certain U.S. state privacy laws. See Section 12 for the choices available to you.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the Site, maintain our records, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete it or to anonymize it. Newsletter subscription data is retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.
9. Data security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to protect the information we hold against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International data transfers
Knowm is based in the United States, and the information we collect is processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for transfers of personal data out of the EEA and the UK.
11. Your privacy rights and choices
Regardless of where you live, you can:
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link included in every email we send; and
- Manage cookies through your browser settings.
EEA and UK residents
If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the right, subject to applicable law, to access the personal data we hold about you, to request correction or deletion, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
12. U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on your state of residence (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others with comprehensive privacy laws), you may have the right to:
- know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you;
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- request deletion of personal information we have collected from you;
- opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising; and
- not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 16. We will verify your request before responding, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf where the law permits.
13. Global Privacy Control and "Do Not Track"
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal and some support the Global Privacy Control (GPC). Where required by law, we treat a valid GPC signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser from which it is sent. Because there is no common industry standard for "Do Not Track," the Site may not otherwise respond to those signals.
14. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where a higher age applies). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes may be communicated through the Site. Your continued use of the Site after an update takes effect indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.
16. Contact us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or would like to exercise any of your rights, please contact us .
